When I was talking with a lady from Australia,I tried to tell about Horumon. But I did not know what it was in English. So I hardly explained.

Horumon is a meal like mexican hodgepodge.

Horumon tastes good. If you find one, why not try?

I googled the translation for the word. The results are:

pig or beef offal (innards).
broiled (or grilled) pieces of beef or pork innards
broiled pieces of beef or pork.

Western people do not cook nor eat the guts of animals. Therefore it is not possible to describe Horumon perfectly in English. I hope the word Horumon becomes more popular and prevelant. The more people understand it, the less I need to explain it.

Even if you find eating horumon gross, It is a good idea to try when you find one at a restaurant or a izakaya. It is often cooked with raddish and tasted by miso, with chopped green onion on top of it. Horumon is a good nibble or appetizer and can also go well with rice. In my case, it goes too well, so I tend to eat too much and get weight.
