The season of hanami or cherry blossom viewing is over in Kumamoto.
Hanami, cherry blossom viewing,is one of the most important annual events for the Japanese. The media track and report “the cherry blossom front” daily to let people know how the cherry trees are blooming.
It is kind of a cross between a picnic and a drinking party. We put a mat unerneath the cherry trees and enjoy the view, talking and drinking for a couple of hours.
The average number of people for hanami is around ten,But if a person enjoys cherry blossom for a short time,I think it could be a hanami too.
There are many cherry trees in Japan. In spring, you may see them almost everywhere you go,Parks, school yards or along a river.
Even at a tiny play ground like this. This is my neighborhood.
When I took the picture above, they were in full blomm.
About ten days later, most petals went off.
This view could be sad,but this is what sakura is.
Hanami and spring season are gone, early summer or rainy season is coming.
